New Year’s Wish!

Hello darlings! How are you?

I know I haven’t appeared over here in these last months… In fact, since the beginning of this year of 2018.

However, I need to tell you this was a year full of emotions for me! I moved to another city, I started on an internship, I’ve been reading lots of books because of college… So it was an intense year!

But that’s also true that I missed writing here so much, throughout this year. And, how I wasn’t having time, I focused on share our beloved classic quotes on Instagram, almost daily (if you want to give a look on this Instagram, there’s a link on the right side of this page!).

Then, I’m telling you all this story to make you a promise (that’s one of my new year’s wishes too!): I’ll try very hard, return to write here in 2019! At least, once or twice a month… Is that enough? But the fact is: I really need to return to write and practice my English and that’s a space that I idealized to do this.

So, to finish this year and start the next, I wish you all an excellent New Year’s Eve and a 2019 full of happiness, brightness, achievements and all you wish to these new 365 days! Hope you keep with me over the year!

With affection,

Silmara Cavalcante, from Classic Popcorn!

P.S.: Feel free to share with me your plans to the next year! I’ll love to know! 🙂

More Classic Movies in the big screen!

Hello, hello!!

I’m here tonight to share with you a pretty good surprise that I had this week. First, I need to remember this story had its beginning some years ago…

Well, exactly in 2014, I posted here about a wonderful surprise that I had with the cinema in my city (a small Brazilian city): the unique movie network we have here, announced that it would display a series of classic movies over the next months, which made me very enthusiastic!

[you can read all my posts about this theme and find all the movies that I watched here: first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth]

But, after two years of this project, it was stopped for a time. However, after a long time of waiting, it will return this month!! Yay! 😀

So, it will be three different movies which will be display over the next months: “Gone With The Wind” (1939), “2001: A Space Odyssey” (1968) and “The Wizard of Oz” (1939). I have to admit that, although I want to watch all of them, I’m very anxious to see the last one, because is one of my favorite musical movies! ❤

That’s all for now, when I can watch these movies, I write here to tell you my experience with them in the big screen. See you!

Died on this date

Hello!

Can you believe that 60 years ago from yesterday was the date when Humphrey Bogart died (25 December 1899 – 14 January 1957)? What’s your favorite movie starred by him? Mine is “Sabrina” (1954) because is starred by Audrey Hepburn too!

Happy New Year!!

“Well, we have a whole new year ahead of us. And wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could all be a little more gentle with each other, and a little more loving, have a little more empathy, and maybe – next year at this time – we’d like each other a little more”
