I’m here today to tell about a magical night…
Well, yesterday I went to cinema to watch “Mary Poppins” (yeah, that musical movie starred by Julie Andrews as the adorable nanny!) which I’ve already watched a thousand times. But like I said about other classic movies: it’s totally different watch it in the big screen, it’s literally magical!! 😀
This movie, of 1964, was produced by Walt Disney and it’s the sixth musical movie in the list of American Film Institute (AFI) about the “Greatest Movie Musicals of All Time“. (The complete list you can see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AFI%27s_Greatest_Movie_Musicals).
In 1965, “Mary Poppins” won the principal movie awards: the BAFTA (United Kingdom), the Golden Globe Awards (USA), the Grammy Awards (USA) and the Academy Awards (USA) in the categories: best actress (Julie Andrews), best visual effects, best edition, best original song and best soundtrack. The movie also was indicated to other eight categories in the Academy Awards. Moreover, “Mary Poppins” had the largest box office of the world in the year of 1964!
